A couple of interesting dog stories!!!
The puppies that protected a little boy from the cold!
In Santiago, Chile there is a new hero and that hero is of the 4 legged version!!! On what is now a very popular YouTube video, a dog enters a crowded highway to pull another dog, already mortally injured, from traffic onto the highway median. Highway workers were quick to get to the median to rescue both the live and dead dog. However, the dog hero ran away and has yet to be found. Images of this encounter were shown on Chilean television and since that time there has been an outpouring of support for the dog trying to save his friend. Many of the callers have expressed an interest in adopting the dog. You can check out the whole scene by watching the video. On another note, a little boy, Jaylynn Thorpe, only three years old wandered away from his home (and his babysitter) in Halifax County, Virginia over the weekend. When he was found 20 hours later it was with two his two young pups. These puppies, both 12 weeks old followed the boy and stayed with him for over a mile journey, even crossing a major highway. It got very cold in Virginia on Saturday night, dipping down to 17 degrees. However, when the boy was found on Sunday near a tree, the puppies were nestled next to him providing him warmth. Some said that the boy might not have survived without those puppies to keep him warm. Even once the boy was rescued, the puppies were reluctant to leave his side. I think all three will be friends for life!!
