A fancy spot at the airport for dogs and their companions!!
For German dog owners who are travelling around the globe, there is a new service which can help the heartache of being away from their dogs for a period of time. Located at the Munich airport is a facility known as “Canis-Resort”. For $107.70 per night, travellers can keep their dogs at the resort, so when they return from their journey, their dog is there to greet them. If you haven’t spent enough on your pooch and time to get to Canis-Resort from your plane seems too long, for an additional fee, there is gate-to-gate service where resort personnel will bring the dog to the owner’s arrival gate, so not a moment is lost. According to Sabine Gerteis, who is the managing director of the resort, “There’s nothing better than when I come back from Hamburg in the evening and my dog is there, waiting for me at the gate with his tail wagging,” Gerteis herself, uses the services of the resort if she has to travel.
While the dogs are at the resort, they have their own individual dog sitter and stay in what is known as “Dog-Lodges”. It doesn’t seem like Canis-Resort is stopping at anything to insure the comfort and care of your pooch. Right now they are looking to incorporate designer grooming services as well as gourmet dog food. The intent is to remove any resemblence to a kennel and to make it feel more like home for the dog. It is clearly understood that dog owners feel bad when they have to leave their four legged friends. So Canis-Resort is doing all they can to pamper the pooch as well as the pooch owner’s conscience!!!
