Healthy and happy dogs…anything and everything!!!
I have consistently written about the plethora of goods and services available for your dog. It is a common occurrence that the needs of our pets are paramount in our lives. Many people spend hundreds and thousands of dollars a year on their dogs and a small part of that is well-health care costs. The rest is spent on adorning, entertaining, grooming and gourmet feeding of our canine kids.
I live in a suburban, rural area in New York State that is about 80 miles north of New York City. A phenomenon in the last ten years has occurred where many people have chosen to leave the craziness of NYC and move to the “country”. Many choose to still work down there and commute to the Big Apple because they don’t want to give up the big city salaries. They also love to spend their extra money on their pooches. In addition to the home building growth and development in this area, there has been an amazing growth in businesses that cater to — you guessed it, our dogs!!!
In a recent edition of a local paper, there is a section just devoted to “Healthy Pet Services” and some these business are quite interesting. Let me give you some examples:
The Pampered Pooch Salon advertises that it is a “full service salon” and offers all types of spa packages, deshedding treatment and an on site doggie day care center!!
Another indicator that our pets have it all is the “A Dog’s Life” country camp and spa that offers boarding, training, transportation, and sooooo much more.
There is the professional pet photograhy business named the Akin-Fowler Studio. They are advertising that a perfect gift for the upcoming holidays would be professional portrait of your dogs. In fact there are two gorgeous collies laying on the grass near a beautiful lake with the hint of mountains in the background. And truly it looks beautiful!! This could be the gift for that special someone who is so hard to buy for.
If your life is just too busy and you can’t get to the groomer, how about hiring the Mobile Pet Grooming center called Roaming Rover. They will come to you to treat your pup to a Hot Oil treatment or a Flea and Tick Shampoo.
So its true; if you make it, sell it, bring it or treat it…they will come and they will do whatever you need for them to do to insure the health and happiness of your best buddy!!!
