Coming to a theater near you on 1/16/09!!!

No, it’s not a vacation spot where your dog is king (well, in a way it is), but rather a new movie to be released by Dreamworks in theaters on January 16th and this film seems to be a winner!!!(But what film wouldn’t be with dogs as the stars?)

The plot of the film, though predictable for adults is a great adventure and action for the kids. Andi and Bruce, brother and sister, have new guardians (you’ll see why in the film) and they won’t allow the two to have a pet. Unfortunately, Andi and her brother already have a dog named Friday. They need to find a new home for Friday, but when looking they come upon an abandoned hotel. It appears that Bruce is a geek genius and with his mechanical smarts Bruce and Andi make this abandoned hotel into a paradise for pooches.

Friday has many friends and many of Friday’s friends are stray dogs. The motto of the hotel is “no stray gets turned away”. This “hotel” is there to provide a safe and stable home to the dogs that have none. It is pretty analogous to the lead characters themselves who have been moved from guardian to guardian and are always seeking the stability and welcome of a warm and loving home. As more and more dogs come to live at the “hotel”, neighbors become suspicious and this is where the ingenuity and creativity of Andi and Bruce much reach new heights!!

This looks like it will be a great family film with both laughs and action. With stars like Lisa Kudrow (from Friends) and some great kid actors, this can be weekend entertainment for a cold Saturday or Sunday afternoon. This has been the season for dog flicks as “Marley and Me” brought in another $24 million dollars this past week!!! Lets see if “Hotel for Dogs” can do the same!!!
