Can't wait to see the movie!!!!


If you read my entry from last week about “Marley and Me”, you see that I spoke about the book with the same title and the movie which will be released, by the same name, on Christmas Day starring Owen Wilson and Jennifer Aniston. However, I have some very exciting and fun news that should help make the release even more fun.

In the hopes of capturing the spirit of Marley,the makers of the film(20th Century Fox), “Marley and Me”, and Purina Dog Chow have sponsored a contest find a dog that best exemplafies the characteristics of Marley. The dog that will be chosen the winner will be shown to be “unique, rascally and engaging”, just like Marley. Entrants of the contest were required to submit a video of their dog between the dates of September 25, 2008 and October 31, 2008. Of the entries, 12 dogs were chosen as final contestants. Your votes along with the other judges including “Marley and Me” director, David Frankel will choose the winner.

For the 12 finalists, portions of their entry videos will be shown on national tv during commercial spots and will be included into the bonus section of the “Marley and Me” DVD collection when that is released. However, the Grand Prize winner will be going to HOLLYWOOD!!!! The prize includes a trip for two to the premiere of the film, 3 nights at the Roosevelt Hotel, a tour of the famous Fox Studios, dinner at Spago and any Hollywood excursion would be incomplete without a limo tour of the city!!!

You can help choose a winner by doing the following: Go to the website, www.longliveyourdog.com by clicking here and vote for your favorite video of the dog you think best embodies the spirit of Marley! You can vote up to three times and help make the life and spirit of Marley live on.
