Pet insurance from the ASPCA - who could you trust more?
It was a Sunday afternoon and I had gone grocery shopping. One of the coupons I received with my checkout receipt was information regarding animal insurance through the ASPCA (The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals)!! Pet insurance should be an important family budget item for any pet owner (dog or cat). I decided to check out their website, and I would encourage you to do the same, but clicking here!!
There are 5 basic plans that you can choose from. The plans vary based on coverage and cost. The degree of coverage is the primary choice maker. Policies range from coverage of accidents alone, to programs that can cover accidents, illness, wellness and long term care. The plan will pay for 80% of allowable expenses after the $100 deductible has been met. That is a relatively low cost for a deductible under any policy. The most basic coverage is available to dog owners for $9.50 per month (come on, that’s about the cost of 2 cups of coffer at Starbucks!) and is primarily for accident coverage. The type of items that could be covered under a plan like this include lacerations, bone fractures, burns, insect bites, bee stings, falls and motor vehicle accidents. If your dog is young and healthy, you might not need a plan geared to illness or chronic conditions, but one accident could be extremely expensive, depending on the severity of the injuries to your dog.
I am not one who usually promotes the sale of things on this blog. However, I feel it is really important to take the best care of your dog as possible and what is the best way to do that? Make sure that you can afford to take care of your dog if anything happens to them. So check out the website above. Even if you can’t afford the highest level of protection, do what you can to protect your dog and your finances.
